Gemini Welcomes Voyager Customers to Our Platform
Through July 23, 2023, Voyager customers impacted by the Voyager bankruptcy can create a Gemini account to withdraw their crypto in-kind, pursuant to the claims of the distribution process.
We are pleased to offer a promotional welcome to all Voyager customers who join Gemini. New U.S. customers from Voyager will receive $5 in BTC after they sign up and become verified within 30 days of opening their account (promo terms apply).
How to Claim Funds
Crypto transfers are now enabled and a crypto transfer window, ending on July 23, 2023, has begun. To transfer crypto to Gemini, follow these steps:
- On the web interface, navigate to the Deposit Page on your Gemini account. If you’re using the mobile app, navigate to the Account tab, and tap Receive crypto.
- Select the supported crypto from the list.
- If it’s an ERC-20 token, acknowledge that you’re depositing it from the Ethereum network.
- Tap Copy to copy your Destination Address.
- On your Voyager account, initiate a withdrawal to your Destination Address. This is a step that you can only initiate on your end and cannot be done by Gemini.
What Cryptos Are Supported by Gemini for Deposit?
Gemini supports over 70 cryptos. Please note that Gemini supports the ERC-20 versions of many of these assets. Before initiating a crypto deposit, confirm that you are sending the ERC-20 version of the token associated with the correct Ethereum contract address.
You can view the full list of the 70+ cryptos Gemini supports here along with links to the associated contract addresses for each supported ERC-20 token.
What happens to cryptos held on Voyager that Gemini doesn’t support?
Any tokens that customers hold on Voyager that aren't supported by Gemini cannot be sent to Gemini. We recommend that you carefully confirm that you are sending only supported tokens to Gemini.
Any unsupported tokens sent to your Gemini account may be lost and completely unrecoverable. Likewise, sending tokens to Gemini over an unsupported network will result in a complete loss of funds. To reiterate, if Gemini supports the ERC-20 version of a token, make sure to confirm you are sending the ERC-20 version associated with the correct Ethereum contract address.

Any coins that aren’t withdrawn from the Voyager platform during the withdrawal period will be liquidated and distributed in cash to customers.

Gemini is a Full-Reserve Exchange and Custodian
Gemini is a full-reserve exchange and custodian. This means that all customer funds held on Gemini are held 1:1 and available for withdrawal at any time. We hold customer digital assets in accounts that are segregated from our assets. We do not do anything with your digital assets unless explicitly authorized and directed to do so by you.
In addition to being a full-reserve platform, Gemini Trust Company, LLC is a fiduciary and qualified custodian under the New York Banking Law and is licensed by the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). NYDFS imposes certain excess capital requirements and compliance standards for all assets held on Gemini. At any given time, Gemini is required to hold capital in excess of customer deposits and must report any material changes in this capital to its regulator.
We look forward to welcoming Voyager customers to our platform as we continue our mission to unlock the next era of financial, creative, and personal freedom for all.
Onward and Upward!
