Today, we are delighted to announce custody support for Arbitrum (ARB), Stargate (STG), Lido Staked ETH (stETH), Wrapped ETH (wETH), and Helium (HNT).
ARB, STG, stETH, wETH, and HNT are now available to send, receive, and custody on Gemini.
These tokens will remain available only for custody and crypto transfers at this time.
Learn more about all the tokens we support for trading and/or custody here.
At Gemini, we employ the highest levels of security and custody controls for crypto held on our platform. Gemini is a fiduciary and qualified custodian under New York Banking Law and is licensed by the State of New York to custody digital assets. Further, Gemini Custody is regularly audited and subject to capital reserve requirements and compliance standards similar to that of a traditional financial institution.
We have also secured $75 Million USD in cold storage insurance coverage for Gemini Custody, which covers certain types of crypto losses from our Custody platform.
We look forward to supporting new crypto projects on our mission to unlock the next era of financial, creative, and personal freedom.
Onward and Upward!
Team Gemini
More about these tokens
Arbitrum (ARB)
Arbitrum is a rollup chain designed to support Ethereum scalability by bundling multiple transactions, thereby reducing the Ethereum network load. Arbitrum’s native token, ARB, can be used to pay transaction fees on the Arbitrum network and provides holders with governance rights with ARB holders able to propose and vote on protocol upgrades or changes.
Stargate (STG)
Stargate is a cross-chain bridge protocol that facilitates native asset transfers between blockchain networks. The platform simplifies these types of swaps by reducing the steps required to complete a cross-blockchain transfer. STG is Stargate’s governance token and can be used for staking.
Lido Staked ETH (stETH)
Lido Staked ETH is a liquid staking solution that allows users to stake their ether (ETH) and receive stETH, which can then be used across the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem. One stETH token represents one ETH token staked on Lido, and its value combines the value of initial ETH deposit with earned staking rewards. stETH tokens are minted when a user deposits ETH and are burned when the ETH is redeemed.
Wrapped ETH (wETH)
Wrapped ETH is a tokenized version of ether (ETH) that allows users to interact with a variety of Ethereum decentralized applications (dApps). wETH is an ERC-20 token making it interoperable with other ERC-20 tokens. wETH can be used to stake, yield farm, lend, and provide liquidity to various liquidity pools. Unlike ETH, wETH can be used on alternative blockchain networks like Binance, Polygon, Solana, and Cardano. The price of wETH is equal to ETH as it maintains a 1:1 wrapping ratio.
Helium (HNT)
Helium is a blockchain-based, decentralized wireless network. It is built on what is known as Proof of Coverage. The Helium network provides wireless connectivity by routing data through Helium Hotspots to internet-connected devices that use Helium's LongFi protocol. HNT, Helium’s native token, is used to 1) reward Helium Hotspot operators, and 2) to create Data Credits (DCs) which can be produced by burning HNT. Data Credits pay for transaction fees on the Helium network.
