Sam Spratt Unveils The Monument Game on Nifty Gateway, Creating a New Way to Interact With Digital Art

Sam Spratt and Nifty Gateway, a Gemini company, have teamed up to deliver The Monument Game — an interactive NFT game pioneering a new dynamic experience in the digital art industry. The Monument Game is a competition that combines old techniques and new technology to create a communal layer atop NFT artwork.

In The Monument Game, collectors complete the “IX. The Monument Game” digital painting, adding a final digital varnish of their thoughts through observations, connecting Sam’s story, art, and players under a common system. In his words: “Dominion is formed through naming what we see, truth found in consensus.”

How The Monument Game Works

The Monument Game consists of four pillars:

1. The Painting: “IX. The Monument Game.” This is a 1/1 digital painting, offered as a fully on-chain auction.
2. The Game: This is an interactive interface and digitally native experience designed around the 1/1 artwork that allows collectors to explore, observe, and compete atop the 1/1 digital painting by contributing to the art.
3. The Ticket: “Player” is an edition of 256, Sam’s very first edition. “Player” is an artwork which widens the circle of who enters the world of Luci and lets collectors interact with the 1/1 by leaving an observation, giving a little piece of themselves to The Monument Game and competing for The Reward.
4. The Reward: The Council of Luci will serve as the voting body and select the three most observant Players to win The Monument Game. The three winners will each be awarded the opportunity to join The Council, marked with one of the three remaining Skulls of Luci (more on Luci and the Council of Luci below).

When the 1/1 auction for “IX. The Monument Game” closes, the game of observation closes as well. The Council of Luci — an exclusive circle of Sam Spratt collectors — will then deliberate on which are the three best observations. The three most observant players, as voted on by The Council, will be awarded the opportunity to join The Council and receive one of the three remaining Skulls of Luci to mark their initiation.
