Additionally, the Gemini mobile app will offer the ability to manage perpetual contract positions by enabling you to cancel open orders, and remain updated on the cancellation status of your orders in near real-time.

Whether you're at home, at work, or on the move, you can now conveniently view your derivatives portfolio and stay informed about your positions, ensuring that you never miss a beat in the dynamic world of derivatives trading.

How to Open a Derivatives Account

Derivatives trading is available via the ActiveTrader interface. To enable ActiveTrader, simply log in to your Gemini account on your desktop or mobile browser, click on "Account" in the top right corner, and select "ActiveTrader”.

Once you have ActiveTrader set up, you’re ready to create a derivatives account. If you prefer a video walkthrough, watch our comprehensive tutorial.

Alternatively, follow these steps to start trading derivatives today:

  1. Log on to ActiveTrader via the web
    a) If you don’t have ActiveTrader enabled yet, you can follow these steps.
  2. Select “Introducing Perpetual Swaps”
  3. Select “Create a Derivatives Account”
  4. In a single step:
    a) Name your Gemini Derivatives account
    b) Select the maximum leverage your account can take - this can be adjusted later
    c) Read and accept the derivatives-specific Terms and Conditions
  5. Transfer GUSD into your Gemini Derivatives account
  6. Start trading!
