Expanding the Gemini Asia Pacific (APAC) Leadership Team

We’re excited to announce the growth of our Asia Pacific (APAC) leadership team with two new strategic hires – Vijay Ayyar, Head of Consumer Growth APAC, and Vijay Selvam, General Counsel APAC. These appointments underscore our commitment to the region and dedication to serving our APAC users.

Vijay Ayyar, Head of Consumer Growth, APAC

In his new role, Vijay will spearhead efforts across APAC to expand Gemini’s consumer business and offerings, including regional expansion and enhancing the Gemini user experience. He will play a vital part in making cryptocurrency accessible and empowering for individuals throughout APAC, further solidifying Gemini’s presence in the region.

Before joining Gemini, Vijay served as VP, International Markets for CoinDCX, India's largest crypto platform, where he helped launch their global trading app across 100+ countries. Preceding that, Vijay spent over seven years at Luno, an emerging markets crypto wallet and exchange, where he helped the company scale to 10M+ customers across 40 markets. Prior to his foray into crypto, Vijay held various roles at Google, Youtube, and PwC. Vijay holds a degree in electrical engineering from IIT Bombay in India and an MBA from INSEAD, France.

Vijay Selvam, General Counsel, APAC

Vijay Selvam joins us as General Counsel for APAC. In this role, Vijay will be responsible for overseeing all legal and regulatory matters in the region, upholding Gemini’s ethos of proactive regulatory engagement.

Vijay is a New York State Attorney, UK Solicitor and Indian Advocate, having worked at law firms in New York and London. He spent over 10 years at Goldman Sachs in New York, Hong Kong and Singapore, where he was APAC Head of Finance and Corporate Legal, covering structured investment products and capital markets transactions. He has also served as General Counsel of the first NASDAQ-listed digital assets firm, Eqonex. Vijay holds law degrees from Harvard Law School and Oxford University.
