Crypto Withdrawal Fees (Dynamic Fees)
When withdrawing cryptos to an external wallet, Gemini users pay a dynamic withdrawal fee. Dynamic withdrawal fees are intended to cover network fees paid to blockchain miners. For example, on the Ethereum network, network fees are known as gas fees and are paid in ETH (read more about gas fees here). Miners process crypto transactions and secure the network on which those transactions are processed. Thus, network fees vary over time based on network activity.
Gemini’s dynamic withdrawal fees are structured to correspond with current network fees to mitigate overcharging or undercharging you. Gemini does not pocket the fee. You agree and understand that dynamic withdrawal fees will instead be determined by the then-current network, gas, or similar fee corresponding to your selected crypto and will be displayed to you prior to the initiation of your withdrawal.
For ERC-20 token withdrawals, users pay gas fees denominated in the crypto being withdrawn. Gemini will cover the cost of converting the corresponding ERC-20 token to ETH.
Other Crypto Transfer Fees
Transferring crypto from Gemini Exchange to Gemini Custody is free. Transferring crypto from Gemini Custody to Gemini Exchange incurs a fee of $125 per withdrawal.
Notice of Changes
A change to our Transfer Fee Schedule that involves fiat transfer fees or crypto deposit fees will be posted for at least three calendar days before such change takes effect and no change will be in effect for less than 30 calendar days.
However, due to natural and frequent fluctuations in network and gas fees, any change to our Transfer Fee Schedule involving dynamic crypto withdrawal fees will not be posted for at least three calendar days before it takes effect and the change will not be in effect for at least 30 calendar days. You agree and understand that dynamic crypto withdrawal fees will instead be determined by the then-current network, gas, or similar fee corresponding to your selected crypto and will be displayed to you prior to the initiation of your withdrawal. As such, dynamic crypto withdrawal fees change often and are effective immediately. Please review the fee before initiating your crypto withdrawal.
Any transfer initiated after the effective date indicated in such notice will be subject to the new Transfer Fee Schedule and you will be deemed to have agreed to the new Transfer Fee Scheduled by continuing to use our services.
