What do I need to know about Gemini's Referral Club program?
1. What is the Gemini Referral Club Program?
- Eligible Gemini users can refer others directly through the Rewards Hub or a unique referral link. Both the referrer and the referral can earn crypto rewards based on the referral’s trading activity within their first 30 days as a registered Gemini user.
- To qualify:
- The referred user must sign up and trade at least $100 within 30 days of registration.
- Once this requirement is met, they join the Referral Club, and both parties earn referral rewards based on the following referral tiers:

*Trading fee revenue share for both Referrers and Referees lasts for 12 months starting the day the Referee signs up for a Gemini account. Trading fee revenue share means that you will receive a percentage of the fees Gemini collects from the referee’s trades

For users that were referred between February 13, 2025, @ 11:30 am EST and March 11, 2025, @ 12:00 pm EST, the following referral tiers shall apply:

2. How to Refer Someone
- Share your referral link via social media, text, email, or any platform of your choice
- Sync your mobile contacts on mobile to send direct invites via text!
- Send email invites directly on web!
3. Where to Find Your Referral Link
Your referral link is available in the Referral modal on both the mobile and web homepages. You can also find it easily in the Rewards hub.
4. Referral Incentives
The Icon and Legend tiers operate as a dual-incentive program. Both the referrer and referee earn an equal share of trading fee revenue based on the referee’s trading activity—because we value both equally!!
5. Eligibility for the Gemini Referral Club Program
- Check the Rewards section in your account—if you can view and interact with it, you're eligible! Gemini Referrals is available in limited jurisdictions at Gemini’s sole discretion.
- Referral rewards are available only to new Gemini Exchange users who have not previously signed up for an account
- Gemini may, from time to time, immediately, and at its sole discretion, modify this list of eligible jurisdictions or make this reward available to users in other territories, subject to applicable law.
- Not eligible yet? We’re expanding to new jurisdictions all the time, so keep an eye out!
6. Referral Trading Qualification Deadline
Your referral has 30 days from sign-up to meet the trading requirements for referral rewards.
7. Qualifying Trades
- ✅ Included: All revenue-generating trades (Instant Buy/Sell/Convert, OTC trades, Active Trader trades, derivatives trades in eligible jurisdictions).
- ❌ Excluded: Crypto and fiat deposit and withdrawals
8. Referral Rewards & Tracking
- Do we still earn a crypto reward if my referral reaches Icon or Legend status?
- Yes! If your referral trades over $100, you both receive a crypto reward—in addition to any rewards earned in the Icon or Legend tiers. However, for Recruit-level referrals, including multiple referrals, the total payout is subject to the maximum limit.
- How can I track my referral’s progress?
- Both you and your referral can monitor their trading activity and tier eligibility in the Rewards Hub. Once the 30-day qualification period ends, their final tier determines the rewards you both receive.
- To qualify for referral rewards, the referrer’s account must be open, active, and in good standing at the time of reward payout. Suspended, restricted, or otherwise non-compliant accounts will not receive referral rewards.
- When will my referral’s trades appear?
- Referral trade activity updates within 48 hours after the trade is completed.
- The “Pending” status in the Rewards Hub does not mean your referral is ineligible, it may simply be processing.
9. Rewards Payouts
- When will I receive my referral rewards?
- Recruit Referral: Paid 30 days after sign-up to confirm legitimate participation.
- Icon & Legend Tiers: Payouts begin 30 days after sign-up, with trading fee revenue accumulating and paid out on or around the last day of each month.
- You can track all referral activity and earnings in the Rewards Hub.
- Limited-time promotions that modify payout structures will follow the terms as stated at the time of the promotion’s launch but remain subject to Gemini’s ability to alter or terminate such promotions at any time. Users should review the Rewards Hub and official Gemini communications for any updates regarding payout timelines and structures.
10. Referral Limits & Influencer Program
- How many referrals can I make and do I get a reward for every referral?
- There’s no limit to the number of people you can refer! You’ll receive rewards for each eligible referral. However, the Recruit referral tier has a maximum payout cap of $1,875. This means that while you can refer multiple users at the Recruit level, the total rewards you can earn from these referrals will not exceed $1,875.
- To maintain program integrity, self-referrals, duplicate account creations, or any attempts to manipulate the referral program are strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification from the program and possible account suspension.
- I’m an influencer—how can I refer my audience?
- You can share your referral link with your audience through social media or other platforms. Since all tiers are linked to your referral code, you’ll earn rewards based on their trading activity—whether they trade $100 or $100,000.
- Keep in mind that the Recruit-level referral tier is subject to a $1,875 payout cap, but feel free to reach out to affiliates@gemini.com and we can discuss a specialized influencer arrangement with you!
11. Tracking Referrals & Using Rewards Hub
- How do I track my referral rewards?
- Visit the Rewards Hub to see:
- A list of all referrals and their status
- Your monthly trading fee revenue rewards from Icon and Legend referrals
- Which referrals are earning you the most
- What is the Rewards Hub?
- The Rewards Hub is your central dashboard for:
- Discovering new rewards
- Tracking past and current rewards
- Managing active offers
- Engaging with reward promotions
- Our goal is to provide you with autonomy and transparency when it comes to taking advantage of Gemini offers applicable to you.
12. Taxes on Referral Rewards
- It's important to remember that any rewards earned through the Gemini referral program may be taxable income in your country of residence.
- U.S. users earning over $600 in bonuses/promotions may receive a Form 1099-MISC from Gemini.
- It's recommended that you consult with a tax professional to determine the exact tax implications of receiving rewards from our referral program. Additionally, you are responsible for reporting any income earned through our referral program on your tax returns. Failure to do so may result in penalties or fines from your local tax authorities.
13. Special Promotions
Gemini may, from time to time, offer special Referral Rewards Program promotions, whether to individual users or the general public. These promotions may be offered for a limited time and do not guarantee any permanent modification to the standard Referral Club Program. Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, all promotions remain subject to these terms, except as otherwise specified by Gemini. Gemini reserves the right to discontinue, modify, or revoke any special promotion at any time without prior notice. Promotions are granted at Gemini’s sole discretion and take effect upon notice to applicable users and apply only to those designated by Gemini.
14. Amendment
Gemini may amend the terms of the Gemini Referral Rewards Program at any time in its sole discretion. Changes may include, but are not limited to, the duration of specific reward structures, eligibility of users, referral reward amounts, eligible jurisdictions, or any other aspect of the program. A user’s continued participation in the rewards program does not grant any vested rights, and no user may rely on the continued availability of the rewards program. Any limited-time offers or modifications do not establish a permanent entitlement to any user. Such changes shall be effective immediately upon posting to Gemini’s website and shall apply to all Gemini users.
