Mobile Fee Schedule
All orders placed via our mobile application (each, a “Mobile Order”) incur both a convenience fee (“Convenience Fee”) and a transaction fee (“Transaction Fee”); see Fee Examples. Before you place your Mobile Order, you will be quoted a firm price that includes the Convenience Fee (the “Quoted Price”). In addition, we will display your Transaction Fee, which is determined according to the amount of your Mobile Order:
|Mobile Order Amount||Transaction Fee1|
|Less than or equal to $10.00||$0.99|
|Greater than $10.00 but less than or equal to $25.00||$1.49|
|Greater than $25.00 but less than or equal to $50.00||$1.99|
|Greater than $50.00 but less than or equal to $200.00||$2.99|
|Greater than $200.00||1.49% of your mobile order value|
The Convenience Fee is calculated at a rate of 0.50% (or 50 basis points) above the prevailing Gemini market price for a given trading pair at the time we provide you the Quoted Price. Your actual Convenience Fee may be greater or lower than 0.50% due to price movement in the market between the time we provide you the Quoted Price and the time your Mobile Order is filled; however, this will not affect the price you pay.
Mobile Order Buy Example – Alice wants to buy $100 of BTC with USD. The prevailing Gemini market price of BTC is $4000. On her mobile application, Alice is provided a Quoted Price of $4020 to buy 1 BTC. This represents the Gemini market price of $4000, plus the 0.50% Convenience Fee (Gemini market price × 1.005). When Alice enters her buy Mobile Order for $100, the Transaction Fee of $2.99 is displayed on her mobile application along with the total BTC amount of 0.02413184 (($100 -$2.99)/$4020 = 0.02413184 BTC) that she will receive for her buy Mobile Order. Alice swipes up on her mobile application to place her Mobile Order to buy 0.02413184 BTC for $100. Fees are only incurred when her Mobile Order is executed.
Mobile Order Sell Example – Bob wants to sell 0.03 BTC for USD. On his mobile application, Bob is provided a Quoted Price of $3980 to sell 1 BTC. This represents the prevailing Gemini market price of $4000, minus the 0.50% Convenience Fee (Gemini market price × 0.995). When Bob enters his sell Mobile Order for 0.03 BTC, the Transaction Fee of $2.99 is displayed on his mobile application along with the total proceeds amount of $116.41 ((0.03 * $3980) – $2.99 = $116.41) that he will receive for his sell Mobile Order. Bob swipes up on his mobile application to place his Mobile Order to sell 0.03 BTC and receives $116.41. Fees are only incurred when his Mobile Order is executed.
The Cryptoverse™ Order Example – Carol wants to buy $100 of The Cryptoverse (a Mobile Order that buys a basket of the supported digital assets on Gemini weighted by market capitalization, each, a “Cryptoverse Order”). The prevailing Gemini market price of each digital asset is as follows: BTC is $4000, ETH is $150, LTC is $50, ZEC is $100, and BCH is $150. On her mobile application, when Carol first selects a Cryptoverse Order, the market capitalization weightings of each digital asset in the Cryptoverse Order are displayed. In this example, the market capitalization weightings displayed are: BTC is 81%, ETH is 13.5%, LTC is 1.5%, ZEC is 1%, and BCH is 3%. The Quoted Price for Carol’s Cryptoverse Order is comprised of the market capitalization weighting of each digital asset multiplied by the prevailing Gemini market price of each digital asset, plus the 0.50% Convenience Fee (prevailing Gemini market price × 1.005). When Carol enters her Cryptoverse Order to buy $100, a Transaction Fee of $2.99 is displayed on her mobile application along with the net order amount of $97.01 ($100-$2.99) and the total order amount of $100. Carol swipes up on her mobile application to place her Cryptoverse Order to buy $100 of The Cryptoverse. Carol will receive a total of 0.019547 BTC, 0.086875 ETH, 0.028958 LTC, 0.009653 ZEC, and 0.019305 BCH for her Cryptoverse Order. Fees are only incurred when her Cryptoverse Order is executed.
