Gemini To Set Guinness World Record With Largest Bitcoin Drone Show


On Thursday at South by Southwest, Gemini will produce a bitcoin-themed light show that will set a Guinness World Record for the largest aerial display of a currency symbol formed by drones. The 20-minute drone show will take place at 8:10 pm CT at 676 Riverside PayParking Lot. The show will follow a 6 pm
Sky Elements, a Fort Worth, TX-based company that has set 12 Guinness World Records, will produce a string of curated drone-powered light images for the drone show. In addition to the Bitcoin symbol, the 1,000 drones will share the story of Gemini’s “Go Where Dollars Won’t” campaign, displaying spaceships blasting off, an astronaut placing an American flag on Mars, and a supersized woolly mammoth, along with other images.
Gemini launched the “Go Where Dollars Won’t” out-of-home campaign in November. It featured a woolly mammoth in a series of Gemini ad placements illustrated by Matt Griffin, a renowned multimedia artist best known for his work on Dune, Dune 2, and Star Wars.
