Recession Fears Weigh Down Crypto Market, Mt. Gox Moves ~$1B, and El Salvador Builds Up Bitcoin Reserve

On Thursday at South by Southwest, Gemini will produce a bitcoin-themed light show that will set a Guinness World Record for the largest aerial display of a currency symbol formed by drones.
The 20-minute drone show will take place at 8:10 pm CT at 676 Riverside PayParking Lot. The show will follow a 6 pm [All-In Podcast live recording featuring hosts Jason Calacanis and David Friedberg.](https://p91pxpnqkm9.typeform.com/to/SpEjNNlZ?typeform-source=allin.com) 

Sky Elements, a Fort Worth, TX-based company that has set 12 Guinness World Records, will produce a string of curated drone-powered light images for the drone show. In addition to the Bitcoin symbol, the 1,000 drones will share the story of Gemini’s “Go Where Dollars Won’t” campaign, displaying spaceships blasting off, an astronaut placing an American flag on Mars, and a supersized woolly mammoth, along with other images. 

Gemini launched the “Go Where Dollars Won’t” out-of-home campaign in November. It featured a woolly mammoth in a series of Gemini ad placements illustrated by Matt Griffin, a renowned multimedia artist best known for his work on Dune, Dune 2, and Star Wars. 

The woolly mammoth holds special significance at Gemini. In 2021, co-founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss participated in a $15 million funding round in Colossal Biosciences, a de-extinction startup that’s [bringing the prehistoric creature back to life.](https://apnews.com/article/colossal-biosciences-woolly-mammoth-b381f6f48eeed0828535cf9604263140) 

This is a seminal moment in the crypto industry. President Donald Trump last week announced plans to create a bitcoin reserve and strategic stockpile that will support other cryptocurrencies. Gemini To Set Guinness World Record With Largest Bitcoin Drone Show

Today, we’re excited to share that USD payment rails are now available for institutional customers in the UK and Switzerland through our banking partner, Bank Frick. In addition, this functionality will be available to institutional users in Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.  

Institutions in these regions can now engage in cryptocurrency transactions directly in USD, furthering the versatility of our platform. They will now be able to deposit and withdraw in USD, as well as access more than 80+ different USD trading pairs. For a limited time, UK institutions will also be able to deposit and withdraw fiat funds using these USD rails without paying any additional fees**. Additionally, we’ll be making use of [xPULSE](https://www.bankfrick.li/en/Bank-Frick-xPULSE): Bank Frick’s 23/7 payment service to enable frictionless banking rails, even outside of business hours, for deposits.
